Already established as one of the most exhilarating and committed soloists in the UK, Tony has recently expanded his musical horizons massively. From his brilliant quartet work with the music of Thelonious Monk (with Jon Gee) and Charles Mingus (with Chris Biscoe) he has reached the heights of touring with the World Saxophone Quartet and recording with Ornette Coleman.

He has recently gigged in Europe with WSQ colleague David Murray, and in South Africa with Abdullah Ibrahim; in a few weeks he will be playing at festivals around France, in a unique funk band featuring George Clinton and Amp Fiddler.

Joining Tony is a highly experienced and accomplished team; Dave has gigged with bands big and small, and a few orchestras, plus a host of great performers such as Jim Mullen, Claire Martin, Gilad Atzmon, Jason Rebello and Scott Hamilton.

Rod also has the widest range of high quality connections; in the past year he has recorded a CD with Denys Baptiste, and an especially rare live CD with legends Lee Konitz and Peter Ind. Earlier gigs have been with Hugh Masekela, Gil Scott-Heron, Jon Hendricks and Ernest Ranglin. Together the band will explore the great American songbook tradition, imbued with some of the spirit of the Sonny Rollins classic 'Freedom Suite'.
